Samsung is a South Korean company that manufactures electronics, including information technology, mobile communications, and device solutions. It was founded on March 1, 1938 by Lee Byung-Chull. They have made products like phones(even a smart flip-phone), tablets, laptops, televisions, and watches. Samsung was originally a grocery trading company. It traded goods like noodles produced in Taegu, Korea, and even exported them to China. After the Korean War, the business was expanded into textiles, creating the largest woolen mill in Korea. The purpose behind this was because Lee Byung-chul had wanted to help Korea recover from the consequences of the Korean War. The company spread into three sub departments; Samsung Heavy Industries, Samsung Shipbuilding, and Samsung Precision Company (Samsung Techwin). Samsung fist started the production of electronics in 1969, and they first made black-and-white televisions. The television seemed to cause the most business growth in Samsung, so they continued to create technology with the new addition of Samsung Data Systems (SDS). According to new.samsung.com, "Samsung Electronics today reported financial results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2022. Total consolidated revenue was a record for the third-quarter at KRW 76.78 trillion despite a challenging business environment, while operating profit declined 23% from the previous quarter to KRW 10.85 trillion."
